DFM asks banks to disclose Saudi exposure
Dubai, September 30, 2009
Dubai Financial Market (DFM) said on Wednesday it had requested all listed banks to disclose exposure to troubled Saudi groups Saad and Algosaibi with lenders having to announce provisions in third quarter results.
The statement follows a circular from the regulator, the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA).
'Dubai Financial Market would like to emphasise that listed banks have to announce the provisions taken, if any, due to extending facilities to the two Saudi groups in their Q3-09 financial statements,' it said in a statement.
Banks listed on the DFM include Emirates NBD, Mashreq and Dubai Islamic Bank. – Reuters
