Qatar Airways increases flights to Madrid

Doha, August 4, 2014

Qatar Airways plans to increase its operations to Madrid, Spain, from November 16, with the addition of three extra flights per week.

The increase in frequency will bring the total number of flights up from seven to 10 per week, resulting in a significant increase in flight options for passengers, the airline said.

With the addition of the three new frequencies, the route, which is serviced by a Boeing 777 aircraft will offer an additional 252 Business Class and 1,758 Economy Class seats per week, for an overall increase of 2,010 seats.

The additional flight timings will offer passengers even more choice when connecting to any of Qatar Airways’ 144 destinations throughout its global network. This includes excellent connection times for business and leisure passengers travelling to routes in the Middle East and Asia.

Qatar Airways Group chief executive officer Akbar Al Baker said: “In the short time that we have been flying to Madrid, we have witnessed a steady increase in the demand for flights to and from the city. I am happy to say that a direct result of that is the number of travellers that choose to fly with us has also increased, and this is why we are thrilled to be able to satisfy the demand of our passengers by offering three additional flights per week."

Direct flights to Madrid, both the capital and the most populous city in Spain, were launched in January 2011. With a population of more than three million, the Spanish capital is considered one of the world’s major global cities thanks to its influence in the areas of politics, education, environment, fashion, science and the arts. - TradeArabia News Service
