Dubai Carrefour opens in-house pharmacy

Carrefour, the world's second largest retailer, has opened an in-store pharmacy in Carrefour Deira City Center in association with BinSina Pharmacy, UAE’s oldest pharmacy chain.

The new BinSina Pharmacy offers a comprehensive pharmacy services to the thousands of Carrefour Deira City Center customers each day, a statement said.

This is the second pharmacy outlet to be incorporated in the global Carrefour chain in the Middle East, after the one that was opened in Carrefour Mall of Emirates.

“The pharmacy-in-hypermarket concept is a truly unique idea worldwide that provides customers with comfort and convenience,” said Henri Changeux, senior vice president in the UAE, Carrefour.

“We have plans to open more stores across the region and we would like to roll out our success story with BinSina Pharmacy in Carrefour Deira City Center to other parts of the Middle East,” he added.

In the course of grocery shopping, customers will be able to buy what they need from a pharmacy. This addition creates an important element of retail service in one of the largest retail brands in the world.

With the convenience of a pharmacy within the hypermarket, customers have the ease and convenience of the unique BinSina Pharmacy services, including the professional health advice, vitamins and specialised skin care products.

"Being the region's premier pharmacy chain, we felt it was imperative to widen our footprint and expand our customer base in the UAE,” said Ayman Hanbali, marketing manager, BinSina Pharmacy.

“BinSina Pharmacy has embarked on the next stage of its evolution with this new concept which incorporates a full-fledged pharmacy within Carrefour hypermarkets.”

The pharmacy occupies an area of 1200 sq ft featuring a contemporary layout in a modern shopping environment, the statement said.

“Besides prescriptions and over-the-counter health products and services, customers can get helpful advice from specialist staff,” Hanbali continued.

“We are delighted to announce that this concept will be rolled out to selected Carrefour premises in the near future. We are also proud to build this association with Carrefour and the UAE-based Majid Al Futtaim Group,” he concluded. – TradeArabia News Service
