PSIL names global sales director; eyes ME expansion

Dubai, July 26, 2014

UK-based Process Systems International Limited (PSIL), one of the world's leading developers of specialist pump engineering for the energy and chemicals sectors, has appointed experienced global business development professional Darren Cowley as sales director as it pushes for significant growth in the Middle East by establishing new distribution agency agreements.

The company aims to expand its global network across Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and the UAE.

PSIL designs and commissions horizontal, vertical, molten sulphur and vortex-flo pumps for national oil companies, major operators and service providers including Qatar Petroleum, TCO, Taymel, BP, Shell, Brown & Root and Read.

Its British-engineered and manufactured technologies have a minimum design-life standard of 25 years, improving efficiency while reducing costs by mitigating the need for regular and expensive refurbishment and replacement programmes, a statement said.

Cowley, a mechanical engineer and former draughtsman, has more than 20 years' experience managing client project sales and establishing joint ventures across the Caspian and Middle East, with companies including Clyde Union Pumps, Hayward Tyler and Knowsley SK.

PSIL managing director Mark Hodgkins said: "British engineering design and manufacturing is a highly sought-after commodity for oil and gas operators and refineries in the Middle East – we are experiencing continuously rising demand across the region.

"Securing new agency agreements in the key markets of Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and the UAE is crucial to our ability to distribute our custom-designed pumps to national oil companies, operators and refinery owners. Our network has widened significantly in the last decade and that growth shows absolutely no sign of slowing.

"Bringing Darren on board is a major boost for the business, he has huge experience of the region and understands exactly what our clients requirements are – his work alongside our technical director Miles Dilkes means we are able to deliver a more efficient service to our customers from initial request to product delivery."

PSIL's assemblies are used in onshore and offshore oil and gas; heavy chemical and petrochemical; molten sulphur, salts and metals; metal picking and treatment; phosphorous, titanium tetrachloride and dioxide, and fertilizers. - TradeArabia News Service
