Bahrain firms win big at Oman petchem expo

Bahrain's pavilion was named the best at the ninth Oil and Gas, Refining, Petrochemicals Exhibition and Conference at Oman International Exhibition Centre. It included companies affiliate to the National Oil and Gas Authority.

Petroleum Development Oman government relations director Saeed bin Sultan Al Busaeedi presented the award, in the presence of Petroleum Investment Management's director general Dr Saleh bin Ali Al Anbouri and Omanexpo's director general Nader Abbas, reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.

Oman's Commerce and Industry Minister Dr Ali bin Masoud Al Sunaidi inaugurated the conference and exhibition, which included 313 pavilions.

He toured Bahrain's pavilion, which included Bapco, GPIC and Bahrain National Gas Company, and was briefed on the history, production processes, as well as achievements and awards obtained by the three Bahraini companies for their contributions to fields of health, environment, safety and community services.

The event was organised by Omanexpo under the patronage of Oman's Oil and Gas Ministry and showcased latest oil industry, products and technologies.

The conference witnessed huge participation from oil and gas companies, which indicates the growth of West Asian economies and development in oil and gas areas, and discussed the latest developments, opportunities, challenges and factors that shape the oil and gas future industry of Oman and West Asian countries. – TradeArabia News Service
