Major oilfield services base launched in Bahrain

The state-of-the-art Bahrain Oilfield Services base of Schlumberger, the world’s largest oilfield services company with headquarters in Houston, was inaugurated yesterday.

The Jebel Al Dukhan base was inaugurated by Finance Minister and Minister in Charge of Oil and Gas Affairs Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa was held in the presence of executives and senior officials from the oil and gas sector and Schlumberger, said a report in our sister publication, the Gulf Daily News.

The minister praised Schlumberger's selection of Bahrain as their new oilfield services operations base offering the latest advanced technologies to local and international oil companies operating in the kingdom.

He pointed out that the Bahrain government has always sought to attract major international companies to increase economic growth rates, develop economic and commercial activities, open the Bahrain market to various local and foreign investments, provide more job opportunities for local citizens and increase national income.

"The kingdom's policies have been formed with the goal of diversifying the productive base of the national economy, resulting in Bahrain occupying a leading position in many economic areas," he said.

"Bahrain's approach to economic policy is based on facilitating investment procedures and capital movement, while ensuring transparency and a system to monitor the performance and achievements of specific legislative structures and economic development in order to achieve the strategic objectives of Economic Vision 2030," he added.

Schlumberger is one of the leading international oilfield services companies and integrated solutions that enhance efficiency and productivity of customers working in the oil and gas industry. – TradeArabia News Service
