Saudi auto service market 'worth $2.4bn'

Riyadh, November 3, 2010

The automobile accessories, repair and after-sales service equipment market in Saudi Arabia is worth SR9 billion ($2.4 billion) as the Kingdom continues to claim the biggest share of the GCC car market, said the organisers of two upcoming motor shows in Riyadh.

Riyadh Motor Show 2010 – the 28th international exhibition for motor vehicles, and Saudi Autoshop 2010 – the 14th international exhibition for auto repair equipment, tools, parts and accessories, are poised to introduce new car models and the latest value-added auto products and services, a statement said.

The two events will be concurrently held from December 5 to 9 at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

According to recent statistics, more than 2 million of the total 4.5 million cars in the GCC are found in Saudi Arabia, highlighting the huge market potential and the excellent investment opportunities in the sector.

The back-to-back events will likewise provide an ideal gateway for investors, car manufacturers and distributors to take advantage of Saudi's promising growth potential as the events offer direct access to key market segments in the country.

'There are a host of exciting activities that have been lined up throughout the twin events as we expect more than 85,000 visitors from Saudi Arabia and all over the world, a very impressive figure that translates to tremendous market exposure for all exhibitors,” said Kamil Al Jawhari, project manager of Riyadh Motor Show at Riyadh Exhibitions Company, organisers of the shows.

“Our goal is to ultimately strengthen the reputation of Riyadh Motor Show and Saudi Autoshop as a definitive gateway for lucrative business opportunities in the region's biggest auto market,” he added.

Riyadh Motor Show 2010 will showcase the latest models of passenger cars, station wagons, sports utility vehicles (SUV), pick-up trucks, motorcycles, special purpose vehicles, and 4x4 vehicles. It will also include automobile financing and insurance services.

Saudi Autoshop 2010 will feature the latest automobile accessories and repair service equipment; gas station equipment; automobile parts; tires, exhausts and batteries; and automobile care products. – TradeArabia News Service
