Qatar's Hassad Food names new CEO

Doha, April 27, 2013

Hassad Food, Qatar’s premier investor in the agriculture and livestock sectors has appointed Fahad Abdulla Turki Al-Subaiey as the new chief executive officer based at the company’s headquarters in Doha.

Reporting directly to Nasser Al Hajri, the chairman of the Hassad Food Company, Al-Subaiey will be responsibile for the company’s global growth strategy, investment plans and operations.

Commenting on the appointment, Al Hajri said, “ We are excited to have Al-Subaiey on-board with us and I am confident that with his strong background and leadership experience he will be able to drive the company towards achieving its vision in becoming a leading global provider of high quality food products”

The new CEO appointment comes as part of Hassad Food’s new global business and corporate strategy, he added.

Prior to this, Al-Subaiey had been in several multiple international roles. His last assignment was that of the executive director-Gas & Power, Qatar Petroleum International.

With over 20 years of experience and a degree in Chemical Engineering, Al Subaiey’s leadership expertise led him to chair and set on a diversified portfolio of boards management committees including chairman of the Board, South Hook Gas (UK); board member in the Adriatic Terminal (Italy), member of Dolphin Energy Limited management committee and executive committee member at Qatar Chemical Company II project, Gas Processors Association – GCC Chapter (GPA) chairman & executive committee member and chairman, board of governors of the Awsaj Academy, a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development.

Commenting on his new role, Al-Subaiey said, "I am excited to take part in leading Hassad Food’s mission and journey in owning, developing and operating efficient, profitable, and growth-orientated global business brands that contribute to the welfare of Qatar.”-TradeArabia News Service
