A top oil expert has warned that there is no more 'easy oil' and the subsea industry is critical to unlocking more oil to meet world supply.” 

Speaking at the major subsea oil and gas event at the AECC, Shell Europe’s vice president of exploration, Tom Botts, urged a gathering of 200 representatives from the global subsea sector to focus on the future of an industry which was developed in Aberdeen.

He also reviewed some hard truths at Subsea 08 when giving his keynote address. Botts focused on the innovation developed here in Aberdeen in the subsea industry and discussed how Shell had applied these technologies to its own developments.
