Dewa, ENBD in new e-services initiative

Dubai, June 10, 2013

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) has partnered with leading UAE bank Emirates NBD to launch a new e-services promotion campaign to help increase efficiency and provide best possible services to its customers through use of latest technologies.

The campaign is aimed at encouraging customers who use their Emirates NBD debit cards to pay Dewa bills online through the mobile phone (mPay) service or the ePay service on the utility firm's website and also the auto-payment feature, provided in collaboration with Dubai eGovernment.

During the campaign period, customers will qualify for a draw to win 12 Samsung Smart TVs by using their Emirates NBD Debit Cards to pay Dewa bills by ePay or mPay, valid from June 1 to August 31.

Moreover, customers can double their chances of entering the draw by activating the Auto-Payment feature through mPay, said a senior official.

"The campaign is part of our continuous efforts to raise awareness about our e-Services and m-Services. It provides our customers an easy and efficient way to pay their bills, and is part of our strategy to switch to full electronic operations," said Marwan Bin Haider, CIO and VP-IT Division at Dewa.

"The campaign encourages our customers to use their Emirates NBD Debit Cards to pay their bills quickly and efficiently," he remarked.

“Driving e-Commerce on debit cards has always been a priority at Emirates NBD, and we have launched several initiatives to encourage debit card usage for e-payments, including being the pioneers in opening up debit card BINs (Bank Identification Numbers) for online transactions,” said Saif Al Mansoori, the deputy head-group (Marketing and Branding) at Emirates NBD.

“We are pleased to collaborate with Dewa and Visa to offer customers the convenience of paying their utility bills online using their Emirates NBD Visa Debit Cards, ensure greater security of such transactions through  DoubleSecure authentication, based on the Verified by Visa protocol, and provide them opportunities to win a Samsung Smart TV every week,” he added.-TradeArabia News Service
