Bahrain arrests LMRA hacking suspects

Manama, April 2, 2012

Bahrain’s security officials have arrested many Asians suspected of hacking the e-system of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) by using an employee's username and password.

They cancelled some registered violations by some organisations for BD1,500 ($3,978).

The General Directorate of Economic and Electronic Security and Anti-Corruption was provided with information by LMRA about the suspension of one of its employees who cancelled registered violations for money.

After investigation, the suspects were identified and it was revealed that an Asian cancelled the violations in an Asian country by using the employee's username and password with help of the suspects living in Bahrain. The first suspect was arrested and he provided information about the others.

The directorate said many suspects were arrested and referred to the Public Prosecution, while probe continued to arrest accomplices. – TradeArabia News Service
