Batelco urges customers to ‘go-green’

Manama, October 22, 2012

Bahrain’s leading telecommunications company, Batelco, is reaching out to its customers to support the company’s ongoing ‘go-green’ initiatives, by signing up for e-Services and cancelling their paper bills.

The campaign to promote e-Billing also supports the Kingdom’s 2030 vision which aspires to an e- Economy, with all residents of Bahrain having access to internet services and a wide range of online applications to enhance their lifestyles, a statement from Batelco said.

Batelco’s e-Billing service delivers a secure and convenient way to review and pay phone bills. Customers can register for e-Billing via the company’s e-Services portal.

By using the service customer can receive electronic versions of their monthly phone bill/s by e-mail, view bill details and pay online using a credit or debit card, download and save bills in PDF format, help save the environment by disabling paper bills, and protect personal information from unauthorised access, the statement said.

Tens of thousands of customers have already registered for e-Billing and disabled their paper bills, and we encourage other customers to visit our website to update their information and register for this free convenient service, it said.

Ahmed Al Janahi, general manager, Batelco Group, said: “Batelco’s e-Billing is a very convenient free service introduced to meet the demand from customers for electronic services that are easy to use and environmentally friendly, by eliminating paper bills.”

“We are encouraging all our customers to get onboard with this initiative to reduce paper and ink usage, and the paper clutter in our homes and offices. With the growing use of smart devices adding to the wide use of PC’s and laptops, more and more people are carrying out a broader range of transactions online including bill payments.”

“As well as being in-line with the popular trend to support a ‘green’ environment, e-Services in general are a key part of Bahrain’s future vision.”

“Furthermore, e-Billing ensures confidentiality by removing the issue of bills being lost in the post or being returned due to customer’s changing their addresses; an e-Bill reaches the customers no matter where he or she is,” Al Janahi added.

Customers who already have an e-Service account may visit batelco.com and access e-Services via the login link on the homepage, he said. New customers are invited to register via the batelco.com homepage.

In addition to the e-Billing service, Batelco’s e-Services portal also provides ease of access for customers to a range of services such as managing broadband or mobile accounts, subscribe or upgrade to a range of broadband and mobile services, customise packages and reserve nice numbers. – TradeArabia News Service
