Du awarded key network certification

Du, the integrated telecom service provider in the UAE, said it has become the first Middle East telecom provider to be awarded TL9000 certification for network development department.

TL9000 standard is a quality management system built on ISO 9001, and designed for the telecommunications industry. It defines telecommunications quality system requirements for design, development, production and service.

The awarding of the TL9000 is a testament to du’s ongoing efforts to achieve and deliver the best customer experience, said a statement from the company.

Edward Grissom, the regional general manager DQS-UL and David Cowie, the DQS-UL managing director (UAE) presented the certificate to Osman Sultan, CEO, du at a recent ceremony.

Top du officials including Hatem Bamatraf, the executive VP, Network Development and Operations, Hanadi Ayoub, the VP Network Architecture & Delivery, Khalid Ranjhani and Mehiar Qaoud (Process Development & Governance Team) attended.

“This achievement confirms us as a regional leader, as we are the first telecom provider in the Middle East to obtain TL9000 certification,” remarked Bamatraf.

“I would like to extend my congratulations to everyone who worked towards this achievement a reality, and offer my praise to the leadership initiative, dedication and efforts of our Process Development and Governance Team,” he added.

Grissom said du has been awarded the TL9000 as a clear indication that it is an organisation that seeks to have the best standards in everything it does.
