Samsung holds support workshop

Samsung Electronics recently held Samsung Developers Day Workshop, specifically designed to support start-up developers, undergraduates and fresh graduates in the development of its platform mobile applications including Bada, Android and Samsung Smart TV.

The workshop was hosted by Mariott Zamalek.

Duke Park, general manager, Samsung Egypt, said: “Samsung is constantly striving to provide support Egyptian youth in the development of local talent and provide them with the tools to successfully develop their own businesses.”

“We are delighted to have been able to secure the Asga Academy to perform these training sessions,” he said. “At Samsung we pride ourselves on constantly providing our consumer base with the latest technological innovations and realising the potential that Egyptian youth have in the IT sector we developed this workshop.”

During the two day event, around 260 participants were trained in the latest mobile application development techniques with a number of workshops, training sessions being provided by senior members of Samsung’s headquarters and local presenters from AsgaTech.

Additionally, a number of competitions took place to encourage entrepreneurial spirit and creative ideas, with awards being given to participants to recognise their efforts and contributions.

Through the workshop Samsung aims that participants will develop the skills needed to successfully work and compete in this industry, with the possibility of some of them working with Samsung at a future stage, a statement from the company said. – TradeArabia News Service
