China's May crude imports from Iran up 50pc

China's crude oil imports from Iran rose nearly 50 percent in May from April on a daily basis, customs data showed on Friday.

China, Iran's top oil customer, bought 2.36 million tonnes of Iranian crude in May, equivalent to about 555,557 barrels per day (bpd), according to data from the General Administration of Customs.

That was up 49.5 percent from 371,500 bpd imported from Iran in April. – Reuters
