EGA to showcase energy efficiency at Wetex

Dubai, April 13, 2014

Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA), a jointly-owned UAE-based aluminium conglomerate formed by Mubadala Development Corporation and Investment Corporation of Dubai, will showcase its DX and DX+ reduction cell technologies.

EGA combines the businesses UAE’s flagship industrial companies Dubai Aluminium (Dubal) and Emirates Aluminium (Emal), which are providing strategic sponsorship at the Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (Wetex), which runs from April 14 to 16 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The technologies were developed in-house at Dubal by operating at higher amperages, not only to increase productivity, but also reduce the impact of smelter operations on the environment through improved energy efficiency and minimised emission levels.

The company will share expertise and promote best practice by taking part in seminars and round-table discussions to be hosted parallel to the exhibition.

Tayeb Al Awadhi, vice president - power and desalination, will deliver a presentation on how Dubal has made significant efficiency gains by implementing an integrated approach, which includes high standards in safety, energy conservation and environmental and health management.

The event is aimed at bringing together the scientific, engineering, technology, and management communities to facilitate strategic partnerships in pursuit of innovative and sustainable solutions that will support the efforts of governmental agencies and civic authorities in the areas of energy, water and environment. - TradeArabia News Service
