Bahrain boat show kicks off on March 28

Manama, February 5, 2013

More than 120 leading international marine brands are set to take part in the 4th Bahrain Boat Show International (BBSI) which kicks off at Amwaj Marina on March 28 and runs till March 30.

One of the largest and most exciting events in the Kingdom, BBSI is being organised by Knotika Boat Shows, in co-operation with Amwaj Islands and supported by Tamkeen.

This year, the Bahrain Boat Show International will play host to an even greater number of international exhibiting brands, exciting entertainment and activities for all ages. The show will run from 3 pm to 10 pm every day. Tickets will be available shortly.

Spanning over 3 days, the organisers expect BBSI 2013 to be the biggest and most impressive show yet and have announced that the largest fleet of mega yachts will be entering Bahrain waters for the occasion.

Saud Kanoo, the chairman of Amwaj Islands said, "It is one of Bahrain’s largest and most exciting events and has attracted tens of thousands of visitors to Bahrain; many of whom travel from across the region to attend each year. Not only is the show a unique occasion for our island, it also perfectly complements the waterfront developments."

"Amwaj Islands is proud to be the official venue for the Bahrain Boat Show International 2013," he added.

The show will be held over 50,000 sq m of land and water exhibition space with over 120 marine brands expected to display their latest products. What will be different about this year’s event is the brand new Outdoor Show, said the oganisers.

This year, BBSI hopes to attract not only its corporate, marine enthusiasts and boat owners but also families and sporting fans, it added.

This year, organisers expect to draw in approximately 18,000 visitors, of whom 30 per cent are anticipated to be from neighbouring GCC countries. Last year's event had attracted about 15,000 visitors from across the region.

While still catering for its boating clientele, there will also be an exhibition of various outdoor recreational lifestyle products including 4-wheel adventure, camping, the latest bicycles, sporting gear, and clothing to suit all interests, ages, and budgets. In addition, there will be lots of live entertainment, games, activities, and boat trips to keep everyone entertained and happy for the day.

Wael Juju, the CEO of Knotika Boat Shows, the event organisers said, "It brings me immense pride to watch the success of BBSI each year. It is still a relatively young show but it has grown exponentially each time and has gained increasing international recognition."

"As the only Boat Show in the world to more than double its growth in terms of visitors and exhibitors, our show has put Bahrain on the world map for boating and marine leisure activities," Juju noted.

Last year's show was patronized by Sheikh Abdulla Bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the personal representative of His Majesty King of Bahrain.-TradeArabia News Service
