RWI on track to deliver $13.6m Gulf orders

Dubai, October 25, 2010

Rubber World Industries (RWI), a leading manufacturer of closed-cell rubber insulation 'Gulf-O-flex', said it is on track to deliver products worth Dh40 million ($13.6 million) to customers across the Gulf region by year end after the recent Ajman unit blaze.

Part of Shaikhani Group of Companies, RWI said its operations are now back on track, after the massive fire that broke out in its warehouse located in Ajman, by utilising stocks from its other storage facilities and partner factories.

"At present, RWI has stocks of 35 containers of tubes and 10 containers of sheets, which are sufficient to cater to its existing contracts. The company is also undertaking major steps to rebuild its factory in Ajman, with an interim manufacturing facility already set up," revealed Muzammil Shaikhani, RWI managing director.

"Furthermore, RWI is in the process of signing new contracts, which can potentially increase its chemicals and plastics capacity by 80 per cent by 2012," Shaikhani noted.

"Bids to be the rubber insulation supplier for many other prestigious projects being built in the region are also in place, following RWI’s successful involvement in the construction of ‘Al Raha Beach’ development, ‘Saadiyat Island’ project and ‘Yas Island’ in Abu Dhabi," he added.

With an expected 4 per cent rise in international demand for rubber products per year until 2011, RWI is focusing its efforts to stabilise production volumes to address the burgeoning demand, especially in the region.

"Due to the unfortunate incident and its major effects on our production capacity, we are now doubly focused on finding ways to adequately provide our customers’ required volume of products promptly and sufficiently, while maintaining the high level of quality we have always provided our customers, which is the foundation of RWI’s strength as a brand,” he added.-TradeArabia News Service
