Gulf Extrusions has announced plans to host a key seminar in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to educate fabricators and architects in Africa on latest fabrication techniques.

One of the largest aluminum extrusion plants in the Gulf, Gulf Extrusions, said the seminar to be held on May 23, seeks to cover the gaps in knowledge with regard to latest fabrication systems and technologies.

It is primarily aimed at introducing modern aluminium fabrication techniques to some 70 architects, consultants and fabricators from several East African countries, said a company official.

The one-day seminar, which will feature comprehensive presentations by experts from Gulf Extrusions, will be first-of-its-kind in the region.

It will tackle important aluminum industry-related topics such as anodizing, powder coating, fabrication and modern accessories.

Besides the introduction of new techniques and innovations, seminar participants will also learn more about the services and products offered by Gulf Extrusions.

Modar Al Mekdad, general manager, Gulf Extrusions, said, “We recognise the immense potential that Africa’s construction sector holds, which is why we were keen to host a highly-focused seminar that provided an opportunity for fabricators and architects to stay abreast of the most advanced fabrication technologies, which in turn will further complement the construction industry."

"Moreover, the seminar is also in line with our plans to strategically strengthen our presence in the African continent, where we already have been involved with several projects,” he added.

Gulf Extrusions, which is part of the Al Ghurair Group of Companies, produces profiles ranging from architectural sections to components for household items, AC grills and customised products.
