Schneider Electric, the global specialist in energy management, has launched its new 'Energy University Hero' competition in the GCC region to award exemplary participants in the virtual program on a quarterly basis.

Since its regional inception in 2011, Schneider Electric’s Energy University has witnessed unparalleled growth with registrations across the Gulf increasing by 105 per cent with 2,057 new users.

Schneider had named Dinesh Kumar Khetani, the associate manager - Maintenance, Tiffany Foods Limited, as the first 'Energy University Hero.'

Khetani had successfully completed 36 courses over a span of three months and cleared the professional energy manager (PEM) examination on  January 9 this year with an overall score of 83 per cent to claim the prestigious title, said a statement from Schneider Electric.

The educational platform Energy University offers more than 300 online courses in energy efficiency and data center management focusing on infrastructure, industry, buildings, residential, as well as data centers and networks.

Recognizing the need for catering to a largely Arabic speaking population, Schneider Electric also offers the courses in Arabic, apart from 11 other international languages including English, it added.

Designed around self-paced learning, Schneider Electric’s Energy University courses are free and last not more than an hour per course, allowing users to take the courses anytime and anywhere.

The curriculum aims to provide anyone involved in the decision-making, management, planning, design, or construction of a space impacted by energy with a level of expertise to address efficiency issues and apply safe, reliable and cost-effective measures.-TradeArabia News Service
