PHARMACIES TO BENEFIT

Bahrain to slash medicine prices by 20pc

Manama, March 4, 2013

Bahrain has decided to slash profit margins on the price of medicines by 10 to 20 per cent, aiming to ensure good returns for pharmacies and alleviate the burden on citizens, said a senior government official.

The Health Ministry and a regulatory panel will constantly review the prices in Bahrain and compare them with those in other GCC countries, said Deputy Premier Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa as he chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting, according to a report in our sister publication, the Gulf Daily News. – TradeArabia News Service
