DBWC in networking tieup with French group

Dubai, April 20, 2013

Dubai Business Women Council (DBWC) recently teamed up with Women In Network (WIN) by the French Business Council (FBC) in Dubai and Northern Emirates to organise a special cross networking event.

The meeting brought together members from the WIN and DBWC, and presented a platform for them to discuss and share their views about various aspects related to entrepreneurship in the UAE.

The event was attended by Isabelle Leroy, the managing director of FBC, Raja Al Gurg, the president of DBWC, Julie Leblan, the founder & president of WIN and co-founder and the CEO of MyList.ae, in addition to several members from both the organisations.

It provided an excellent opportunity for participants to get a better understanding of the services, objectives and achievements of WIN and DBWC.

Raja Al Gurg pointed out that the WIN and DBWC shared a common goal of empowering business women through an array of well-structured and high-impact initiatives held throughout the year.

"Therefore, this cross networking event presented the perfect setting for two like-minded organisations to come together and familiarize their members with the mission, services and accomplishments of the two entities," she remarked.

The event, she stated, also enabled the attendees to discuss emerging challenges and opportunities for women entrepreneurs in the country, while also helping them gain insights from the inspiring talks during the event.

Julie Leblan shared her experience as the co-founder and CEO of MyList.ae, the first online multi-store gift registry in the UAE.

"We are pleased to collaborate with the DBWC for this cross networking event, which complements the range of activities that WIN regularly organises in Dubai, right from networking events and lectures from business experts to highly focused training sessions for our members," said Leblan, who is also a solicitor who has practiced in Paris.

"We look forward to working together with DBWC on similar initiatives in future as well with the underlining goal of empowering women entrepreneurs in the country," she noted.

In her comments, Isabelle Leroy said, “Creating invaluable networking opportunities remains at the core of FBC’s objectives.
We organise more than 60 events a year, ranging from conferences and trade missions to workshops and social gatherings, all with the primary goal of facilitating useful networking avenues for our members."

This partnership to organise a joint event has certainly proved extremely productive for the members of both DBWC and WIN, which is an integral facet of French Business Council, she added.-TradeAraba News Service
