Abu Dhabi gears up for top job fair

Abu Dhabi, January 28, 2013

Thousands of Emirati job seekers will set eyes on new career paths when the UAE’s leading recruitment fair and career exhibition Tawdheef opens its doors in Abu Dhabi tomorrow (January 29).

Taking place until January 31 at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, the Tawdheef Recruitment Show is expected to attract upwards of 12,000 Emirati job seekers over three days, as they look to vie for one of the 2,500 jobs posted on the event website by participating employers.

The vacancies posted by exhibitors include optometrists and anaesthesia technicians at Oasis Hospital, graduate chemical and civil engineers at Petrofac, and electrical engineers and HSE co-ordinators at General Holding Corporation – Senaat.

And while there are at least 2,500 jobs up for grabs at the show, Tawdheef’s exhibition director, Hayete Jemai said that the actual number of available vacancies is far greater, since many employers can’t put an exact figure on how many openings they will have throughout 2013.

“While many employers were able to give us specific numbers of vacancies available across their organisations, we anticipate the actual number of openings at Tawdheef will be far more than those posted on our website,” said Jemai.

“Indeed many government organisations in particular have open vacancies throughout the year and they just can‘t provide a precise number,” he added.

Held under the patronage of Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Tawdheef spans almost every industry, including government, finance, healthcare, insurance, retail, tourism and hospitality, energy, industrial, media, recruitment, defense and security, IT, telecoms, transport and logistics.

Tawdheef is open from 10am-7pm daily, with the morning of January 30 from 10am – 1pm reserved for Emirati ladies only.

The three-day event is partnered with the Emiratisation Summit, the UAE’s foremost conference outlining industry case studies and best practice for companies looking to attract, retain and develop Emirati talent and future business leaders.-TradeArabia News Service
