Tamkeen, Newton ink legal training pact

Manama, November 28, 2012

Tamkeen, Bahrain’s labour fund, has signed an agreement with Newton Legal Group, an international legal firm working with several government establishments in Bahrain, to train 10 new Bahraini law graduates.

Tamkeen chief executive Mahmood Hashem Al-Kooheji said: "The agreement is in line with our mission to train Bahrainis and arm them with the skills that help them realise their objectives and fulfill their career ambitions.”

“We are pleased to partner with such a prestigious international law firm to give a group of promising Bahraini lawyers the opportunity to advance in the ever-growing legal profession and effectively contribute to the growth of the national economy."

The agreement targets new Bahraini law graduates that have less than three years of working experience. The two-year training programme includes theoretical courses offered on a weekly basis. In addition, the participants will also have the opportunity to deal with various entities including ministries, semi-governmental institutions, and private companies.

Joseph Huse, Newton Legal Group general manager, said: "Legal affairs play a significant role in supporting modern economies and it is extremely important to have trained national professionals within this field. Therefore, we look forward to cooperating with Tamkeen to develop local talents in this profession." – TradeArabia News Service
