inJAz Bahrain offers on-the-job training

Manama, February 14, 2012

inJAz Bahrain, which aims to promote a culture of business innovation among Arab youth, has organised an internship programme for 34 students from five schools and the University of Bahrain.

The internship programme is offered to students who are undertaking inJAz Bahrain’s “Company” programme this year with an attempt to enrich the students’ experience with real work knowledge and hands -on engagement while creating awareness of local businesses, industries and career opportunities, adding on to the skills they learn from the “Company” programme.

The internship opportunity is extended by six industrial and financial institutions as part of their longstanding partnership and support to inJAz Bahrain and their belief in the importance of their role in providing career guidance to the youth in preparation for the work place.

The companies participating in this internship program are GPIC, BBK, Alba, Citi Bank, Gulf Air, and KFH.

The students follow a structured guideline provided by inJAz Bahrain to these companies focusing on five key work disciplines within each company; marketing, production, human resources, public relations, and finance.

Sheikha Hessa Bint Khalifa AlKhalifa, executive director of inJAz Bahrain said, “We have been longing to see this internship program take place. We have realized for a period of time that the students’ learning would only be complete if it is enhanced with a real work practice helping them build the bridge between class learning and their future success.”

Mohammed Salahuddin Al Meer, a student from Isa Town Secondary Boys School, said: “This initiative was very beneficiary to us.  It made us aware about the world of work and how to handle different work situations which we might face in the future, in addition to handling responsibilities and punctuality.” – TradeArabia News Service
