Dubai's leading developer Nakheel has awarded a beach profiling contract worth Dh105 million ($28.5 million) to Dutch company Van Oord International on its man-made Palm Jumeirah island, said a report.

The work will start next week and is due to be completed within seven months, The Gulf News reported citing a Nakheel statement.

As per the contract, Van Oord will also be handling the re-profiling of the water edge along (some of) the Palm Jumeirah island’s fronds, it added.

The Palm Jumeirah is currently the world’s largest man-made island and home to a residential, tourism and leisure destination located off the coast of Jumeirah, Dubai’s most prestigious residential and tourism hub.
