Emirates NBD receives top award

Dubai, July 10, 2012

Emirates’s NBD’s asset management arm has announced that it has received the ‘Mena Sukuk Manager of the Year’ award at the 2012 Global Investor/ISF Investment Excellence Awards.

The award ceremony, held recently at the Grange St Paul’s Hotel in London, recognised the best contributions to asset management over the past 12 months, and the winners were determined by a panel of seven independent judges, including Anthony Hilton, the city editor of the London Evening Standard; John Redwood, former UK cabinet minister and co-founder of Evercore Pan-Asset; and Alastair O’Dell, the editor of Global Investor/ISF magazine.

This is the second time Emirates NBD Asset Management has been recognised for its Mena capabilities by Global Investor, a statement from the bank said. Last year it was also awarded the “Equity Manager of the Year” at the Global Investor/ISF Middle East awards.

“Winning an award is always a very positive reinforcement of our abilities and performance,” said Deon Vernooy, senior executive officer, Emirates NBD Asset Management. “Being declared Mena Sukuk Manager of the Year is a reflection of our strong commitment to deliver superior products to our investors, through our disciplined research-driven approach to fund management. We are proud to receive this important award, which recognises our expertise in the Sukuk market, and reinforces our standing as the Middle East’s leading asset management company.”

“This award is yet another feather in our cap that will help increase the confidence of not only retail investors but also institutional investors and insurance companies in including our funds in their investment plans and portfolios,” added Vernooy. – TradeArabia News Service
