Oman's Supreme Committee, which has been tasked with tackling developments resulting from coronavirus pandemic, has announced new entry restrictions, making two-dose vaccination mandatory for all non-Omanis aged 18 and above entering the sultanate from all checkpoints.
The new measures follow a noticeable spike in daily Covid-19 cases. In the last 10 days, Oman registered 262 new infections, the highest in many months, including one death, while the Ministry of Health have also registered 17 Omicron cases.
As per the new rule, only those passengers who show negative PCR test issued within a maximum of 72 hours will be allowed into the country, reported Oman News Agency (ONA).
The committee also decided to cancel the decision that bans entry of arrivals from certain countries listed previously, namely South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Eswatini and Mozambique.
