Majid Al Futtaim hotels win Green Globe certification

Majid Al Futtaim, a leading shopping mall, communities, retail and leisure pioneer across the Middle East, Africa and Asia, has been awarded the prestigious Green Globe certification throughout its entire hotel portfolio in the region, thus showcasing the company’s commitment to sustainable development.
 
These include Aloft City Centre Deira, Hilton Garden Inn Dubai Mall of the Emirates, Ibis Dubai Al Rigga, Ibis Dubai Deira City Centre, Ibis Dubai Mall of the Emirates, Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates, Le Meridien Bahrain City Centre, Pullman City Centre Residences, Pullman City Centre Deira, Novotel Dubai Deira City Centre, Novotel Suites Mall of the Emirates, Sheraton Mall of the Emirates, and The Westin Bahrain City Centre.
 
Majid Al Futtaim Hotels were recognised for implanting a long-term holistic sustainability management system that addresses environmental, sociocultural, health and safety issues, said the company in its statement. 
 
The hotels utilise the latest cutting-edge technology solutions to reduce carbon footprint and food waste as well as conserving water resources. All solutions are also value accretive with meaningful commercial improvements in the short, medium, and long term, it stated.

As part of its sustainability strategy, the Dubai group has embarked on a multi-faceted initiative to optimise its hotel assets with the implementation of new technology in all its hotels to reduce their impact on the environment, while providing commercial benefit.
