Vatel hosts public lecture about tourism and real estate investments

Vatel hosted its first public lecture on Tourism and Real Estate Sector gaps and Investment Opportunities presented by Ali Murtaza - director of Real Estate, Tourism and Leisure Investment Development at the Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB).

The lecture was attended by 40+ current Vatel students, prospective students and their parents, and esteemed guests from the hospitality sector in Bahrain.

The lecture highlighted how tourism and real estate-related investments are crucial elements of economic growth, the gaps and issues within the sector that need to be addressed and the particular advantages Bahrain can offer to tourism-based enterprises. In addition, the lecture shed light on some of the major projects and mega-developments in the pipeline that will create prospective job opportunities for Vatel’s students post attaining their degree. The session ended with a lively Q&A session where students had the opportunity to engage and exchange their views based on their current experiences.

Julien Liscouet, general director of Vatel school in Bahrain, stated: “We want the students to connect with leaders in the industry such as Ali Murtaza from the EDB, and understand the importance of this sector, and their role within the different segments of tourism and real estate. The hospitality industry is growing, and will continue to grow and we need to ensure our students are aware of the changes so that they can be prepared to make a difference with the skills they will acquire from Vatel.”

Bahrain's only hospitality and tourism business school, Vatel was officially inaugurated in 2018 with the objective of upskilling the national workforce in accordance with international standards, as well as providing students with the qualifications required in order to obtain job opportunities within the developing hospitality sector in the Kingdom.

Vatel, a hotel management school in Bahrain, is the group’s first and only school in the GCC region. Vatel prepares its students to build their future in the international tourism & hospitality industry and become the managers of tomorrow.
