Bahrain discusses tourism ties with Egypt

The chief executive officer of Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, Nader Al Moayyed, received the newly appointed ambassador of Egypt to Bahrain, Yasser Mohamed Shaaban, on January 13.

During the meeting, the importance of strengthening bilateral relations and further enhancing areas of cooperation between both countries across all fields, especially the tourism sector, by adopting tourism initiatives that will benefit both nations and support the national economy was discussed.  

In addition, the CEO of BTEA and the newly appointed ambassador reviewed BTEA’s latest achievements, including the foundation stone-laying of the new Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre in Sakhir, which upon completion will support Bahrain’s efforts in creating a vibrant environment conducive to attracting additional business and commercial opportunities, as well as enhance commercial collaborations with Arab and foreign countries due to the features that will be available in the new facility, in order to further strengthen the kingdom’s position as the leading business and investment hub in the region.

Al Maoyyed congratulated the ambassador on his new appointment and further commented: "It is with great pleasure that we receive Yasser Mohamed Shaaban. We would like to extend our congratulations to Shaaban on his new appointment as the ambassador of Egypt to Bahrain and are incredibly proud of our shared vision and joint goals which are aligned as part of our efforts to develop the tourism sector with the aim of increasing the tourism sector's contribution to the national economy and documenting the collaborations and fruitful achievements between our two countries.
