Turkish Airlines' load factor nears 83pc in September

September turned out to be a good month for Turkish Airlines, which posted a load factor of 82.9 per cent for the month.

According to the carrier's passenger and cargo traffic results for September 2019, the total number of passengers carried during the month reached 6.7 million, with domestic load factor hitting 86.1 per cent, and international load factor nearing 82.5 per cent.

International-to-international transfer passengers (transit passengers) increased by 6.2 per cent, and international passengers excluding the transit passengers increased by 5.5 per cent compared to the same period of last year.

In September, cargo/mail volume increased by 9.8 per cent, compared to the same period of 2018. The main contributors to the growth in cargo/mail volume were Africa with 11,8 per cent, North America with 11.5 per cent, Far East with 11.4 per cent, and Europe with 10.7 per cent increase.

Between January and September, passenger numbers totalled 56.4 million, with total load factor reaching 81.4 per cent during the nine-month period.  International load factor for January to September was 80.7 per cent while domestic load factor hit 86.4 per cent.

International-to-international transfer passengers carried during the nine-month period increased by 3.9 per cent and cargo/mail carried during the same period increased by 9.6 per cent and reach to 1.1 million tons. - TradeArabia News Service
