Marriott appoints new multi-property GM for Kuwait hotels

Marriott Hotels has appointed Wael Makahleh as the new multi-property general manager for three hotels and an iconic ballroom in Kuwait

Makahleh will be leading JW Marriott Kuwait City Hotel, Courtyard by Marriott Kuwait City Hotel, Residence Inn by Marriott Kuwait City Hotel and Arraya Ballroom managed by Marriott International in Kuwait, with the aim of delivering unrivalled guest experiences.

Makahleh is a pioneer in the GCC's hospitality sector and an experienced hotelier with a robust sales, marketing and operations background.

His extensive career path started in Sheraton Amman in 2000 as assistant director of sales and marketing, followed by various leadership positions at prominent hotel brands in Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Oman and Kuwait.

“He has a proven record of accomplishment as an insightful and strong leader, and I would like to wish him all the success with his new assignment,” said Safak Guvenc, vice president of operations - Gulf & Levant for Marriott International.
