Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara names new F&B head

Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara has appointed John Halliday as its new food and beverage (F&B) director.

Halliday began his career in hospitality as a commis chef and moved onto many front of house roles including restaurant manager at Suites Hotel in Liverpool, UK and operations manager for De Vere Daresbury Park Hotel in Warrington, UK in the early days of his career. Halliday has previously worked in UK, Oman, Laos and most recently in the UAE.

He held the position of F&B manager at Desert Palm Dubai for four years in the UAE where he led a team of over 100 staff members to run a full F&B Operation of the hotel and its associated parties.

Prior to joining Desert Palm Dubai, he worked in Laos as a group F&B manager for Hotel de la Paix and 3 Nagas Boutique Hotel, situated in the province of Luang Prabang, Lao PDR in South East Asia. Halliday has also successfully been a part of the Hyatt Hotel Group in Oman previously as assistant F&B director/entertainments manager and brings his experience in the region to his new role at Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara.

Halliday graduated at the Hugh Baird Catering College in Liverpool where he holds a degree in Advanced Catering and Hospitality alongside Advanced Information Technology.
