Gulf Air honours staff for successful Dreamliner service launch

Gulf Air today honoured members of its workforce for their exceptional performance and efforts in realising the successful launch of its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner service to London, Heathrow.

The ceremony, which was held at Gulf Air’s headquarters, was attended by members of the airline’s executive management team including Gulf Air chief executive officer Krešimir Kučko; deputy chief executive officer Captain Waleed Abdulhameed Al Alawi; and chief operations officer, Captain Suhail Abdulhameed Abdulaziz Ismaeel, who congratulated staff and awarded them with appreciation certificates.

The celebrated staff included Gulf Air’s cabin crew, security, captains and first officers. These individuals were among those who supported not only the airline’s inaugural double daily Dreamliner service between Bahrain and London Heathrow but also the aircraft tour that followed in London. Members of the airline’s executive management team including Captain Al Alawi were welcomed upon landing into Heathrow by Bahrain's ambassador to the UK, Sheikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa, embassy officials, executive management from Heathrow Airport Holdings Limited, officials from Gulf Air’s general sales agent for UK Aviareps UK and Gulf Air’s London team.

Kučko thanked staff, saying: “Passenger feedback on our inaugural London, Heathrow Dreamliner service was overwhelmingly positive, with crew singled out by travellers for their commendable performance and the service standard onboard. Thank you for your outstanding work that ensured the personal comfort of our valued passengers and guests. As we introduce our newest aircraft on Gulf Air’s London Heathrow route and meld cutting-edge technology and infrastructure with traditional warmth and hospitality, your roles are more critical than ever in making lasting, positive experiences for our passengers. Your service and your commitment create long-lasting impressions of our airline and, as the ‘face’ of Gulf Air, your role is of critical importance as you represent our airline on a daily basis and in all that you do.”

Captain Al Alawi commented: “We are delighted to honour those members of our workforce today who have truly embraced not only their roles as integral members of the Gulf Air family, but also the culture of our national carrier which pushes us all to strive for excellence in all that we do. Gulf Air’s double daily nonstop flights connecting Bahrain and London Heathrow Terminal 4 provide excellent two-way connectivity.
