Flag carrier Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) has announced plans to restart flights to the Austrian capital city, Vienna, this June.

adding a new route for the summer with direct flights to be launched from Jeddah and Riyadh to the Austrian capital city, Vienna.

Starting June 16, the new route will operate four-times-weekly from Jeddah and Riyadh.

The total journey time between Saudi Arabia and Vienna will be under five hours and 30 minutes nonstop from Riyadh.

Eng. Abdulrahman Altayeb, vice president corporate communications for Saudia, said: “Saudia is pleased to be re-introducing Vienna to the airline’s global destination route map after a stop in services in 2010. Saudia’s growing route network and double-digit passenger growth have seen the airline carry more than 32 million guests last year, with further growth projected with the start of operations at Jeddah’s new King Abdulaziz International Airport, later this month.
