Hundreds of passengers were forced to evacuate London City Airport on Friday, after a number of people complained they were feeling unwell and fire alarms sounded.

After a three-hour investigation by police and firefighters in protective clothing, the terminal was declared safe.

The cause of the ‘chemical incident remained unclear.
