Turkish airport security beat up Saudi woman,2 sons

A Saudi woman and her two teenaged sons visiting Turkey were assaulted by the Istanbul airport’s security men last week, said a report.

The woman's husband, who was waiting outside the airport, was quoted as saying that many security men suddenly jumped out of their seats and attacked his wife and sons without reason, said a report in Sada newspaper.

The man said his family was assaulted after his wife accidently stood in an area assigned for the handicapped.

According to a report, the two boys who intervened to protect their mother were arrested and kept in custody for a day.

“Three men attacked and beat up my 14-year-old son and his younger brother. Seven others joined them later and started to swear at them saying ‘Saudis… Saudis’. Some passengers tried to stop the security men,” the man was cited as saying.

The man was also denied permission to see his sons despite many attempts made by the manager of the Saudia Airlines at the airport.

Upon release the following day, the man had learned that the boys were insulted and beaten, showing bruises on their limbs, faces and other parts of the bodies.
