Kuwait plane makes emergency landing in Brussels

A Kuwait Airways jetliner carrying 200 people, en route to London from Kuwait, made an emergency landing in Brussels due to a technical fault in the alarm system indicating smoke in the cargo compartment on Monday.

The plane, an Airbus 300, landed without incident and all passengers disembarked safely, a Brussels airport spokesperson said.

Kuwait Airways Corporation said in a press release that the crew of its flight 103 handled the matter with high professionalism and made emergency landing in capital city of Belgium.

The plane is being subjected to technical tests and will resume its journey to Heathrow Airport in London, the company said. All passengers on board are safe.
