Global luxury brand Givenchy has announced the appointment of Matthew M. Williams as the new creative director. Effective tomorrow (June 16), Williams will take on all creative responsibilities for both women’s and men’s collections.
A French luxury fashion and perfume house, Givenchy hosts the brand of haute couture clothing, accessories and Parfums Givenchy, perfumes and cosmetics.
Welcoming the appointment, Chairman and CEO of LVMH Fashion Group Sidney Toledano said: "I am very happy to see Williams join our group. Since he took part in the LVMH Prize, we have had the pleasure of watching him develop into the great talent he is today."
"I believe his singular vision of modernity will be a great opportunity for Givenchy to write its new chapter with strength and success," he noted.
Renaud de Lesquen, CEO and President of Givenchy, said: "I want to warmly welcome Williams to the beautiful Maison Givenchy. His first assignment after taking over the new role will see Williams present his first collection for the House of Givenchy in October at Paris.
