Saudi cargo operations will continue, says GACA

Following the recent orders of a nationwide curfew to curb the spread of coronavirus, the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has announced that air cargo operations will continue  to ensure the arrival of necessary goods and products including medical equipment, medicine and foodstuffs, said a report.

GACA has taken proactive steps to ensure all relevant authorities and air cargo companies are operating in the kingdom's airports with the necessary health safety requirements and the precautionary and preventive measures, said a report in Saudi Press Agency.

"All relevant authorities have taken all the necessary precautions to sterilise and disinfect the facilities of the air cargo stations throughout the kingdom's airports. This is in addition to setting up medical checkpoints at all stations for workers and visitors alike," GACA said.

"All working teams have also been provided with all means of protection and prevention so that the flow of goods and services to all cities of the kingdom can be completed safely," it said.
