Tamkeen supports top ICT event in Bahrain

Tamkeen Labour Fund has announced its strategic partnership with Bahrain Technology Companies Society (BTECH) to support the “MEET ICT & BITEX 2020”, the leading ICT event in Bahrain.
 
Held under the patronage of Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, the event will take place from March 24 to 26, 2020 at the Gulf Convention Centre.
 
The tenth edition of the gala event is jointly organised by BTECH and WorkSmart for events management under the theme “Leading the Way to a Digital Economy”.
 
Dr Ebrahim Janahi, CEO of Tamkeen, stressed the importance of Tamkeen’s support towards such initiatives and projects since they’re aimed at accelerating Bahrain’s economic and knowledge growth as it is aligned with the Kingdom’s vision towards building a digital economy.
 
“Supporting initiatives and events like MEET ICT & BITEX aims to increase the contribution of technology companies in the private sector, enhance their competitiveness, develop their business which will in turn contribute to our society, as well as encourage them to further improve the rendering of their services and innovations,” Dr. Janahi added.
 
For his part, the chairman of BTECH Ubaidly Ubaidly said that MEET ICT & BITEX is being held for the tenth consecutive year to shed light on the importance of the ICT sector to accelerate and boost the transition towards  digital economy, allowing us to take advantage of modern technologies such as artificial intelligence, block chain, the Internet of things, robots, etc.
 
Chairman of BTECH stated: “It has been our passion contributing to the ICT industry in Bahrain as it enables us to understand the current situation of our economy and how Digital Transformation has an impact on it. We know that the partnership and Tamkeen’s generous support will help us accomplish a positive change locally and regionally.”
 
Ubaidly said that “BTECH” constantly strives towards contributing in enhancing the ICT field in Bahrain while looking into various ways to accelerate the kingdom’s transformation towards digital transformation. As such, BTECH calls on all ICT companies and organisations to take this opportunity of aligning their objectives through this event.
 
MEET ICT Conference will host numerous activities catered towards growing business and ICT professionals, including seminars, workshops, a virtual reality and game center, demo space, and a special robot and media corner.
 
During the conference, specialised workshops and discussion sessions will be organised, in addition to meetings and networking sessions for emerging companies and technical and educational institutions. Meanwhile the exhibition will include pavilions for participating countries, and a display area for entrepreneurs and student projects in the ICT field, as well as a video space and innovative games.-- Tradearabia News Service
