Canon supports Dubai Airshow as printing partner

The Dubai Airshow is one of the world’s leading aviation events, set to attract 1,300 exhibitors and thousands of visitors this year, showcasing the latest industry trends and the technology supporting its development.

Canon’s stand will provide printing facilities for exhibitors and visitors at its business centre. Additionally, Canon will showcase Smart Cargo Solution, Compliance Checker, a digital online tool that speeds up cargo movement and flow by detecting data errors in air waybills, said a statement.

The system automatically inspects the content and format of a shipment’s data, it said.

The solution is relevant to a broad range of customers in the logistics and transportation sector, including airlines, freight handlers, cargo system providers, airports and port hubs, supporting them in speeding up cargo movement and flow by preventing delays caused by sending non-compliant cargo to customs.

Khaled Bou Antoun, general manager – Canon Emirates, said: “Data is key to helping us get a grip of what is about to happen – it ensures we maintain control of the circumstances and are able to anticipate, hence becoming pro-active instead of reactive.”

“We recognise the importance of data in achieving digital transformation and hence we bring innovative solutions designed to support our customers across a variety of industry sectors, including transport and logistics, in their digital transformation,” he said.

“Recent research from IATA has indicated that of the top 10 priorities of the industry; security, enhancing safety and driving efficiencies with global standards are at the top of organisations’ concerns. The Compliance Checkers helps address these concerns to ensure maximum levels of compliance with global industry rules and regulations,” he added.

Data gathered by Canon Product team has shown that digital transformation is second only to business growth in terms of the key concerns of CEO’s. Additionally, 86 per cent of decision makers say that they have a two-year window in which to make significant progress in their digital transformation journey before they start to suffer financially.
