The Bahrain Entrepreneurship Organization (BEO) focussed on innovation and exchange of experiences in the economic field at its inaugural event, held recently at the Arcapita building in Bahrain Bay.
The event was held under the patronage of Zayed Alzayani, Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism.
Speaking at the launch, chairwoman Feryal Abdulla Nass said: “The organisation will support the development of the economy as well as to enhance and encourage competitiveness. Finally, it will provide new opportunities to develop the capabilities of young entrepreneurs in the fields of innovation and creativity.”
“This will contribute towards achieving the objectives of Bahrain’s Vision 2030 and to diversify sources of non-oil income of the national economy,” she added.
Nass introduced the organisation’s objectives at the event, which seeks to encourage young entrepreneurs to enter into various fields of business in particular those pertaining to the Environment via Solar Energy and Green Technologies as well as being an accelerator for Exports.
“We have set up BizGrow to be the accelerator and along with the invaluable assistance of various government bodies as well as coordinating with International exportation experts, we aim to embrace and further advance young entrepreneurs that are ready to export their products or services globally,” she added.
BEO is organised into various sub-committees that include the built environment, human development, health sciences, media, retail, and culture, tourism, and hospitality.
Nass thanked the minister for his patronage of the event. She also thanked the organisation’s sponsor, Tamkeen, and other strategic partners.
The event was well attended by ambassadors, diplomats, senior government officials, business stakeholders, the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and senior members of the business community, it stated. – TradeArabia News Service
