Top paper industry experts gear up for SGI Dubai

Leading experts in the paper manufacturing industry will discuss ways to cater to the needs of the short run print segments and other big industry challenges at the SGI Dubai expo which kicks off in Dubai next year.

The 23rd edition of SGI Dubai, a leading exhibition for signage, digital signage, retail signage solutions, outdoor media, screen and digital printing industry in the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region, will run from January 12 to 14, at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Today the paper industry is one of the largest and growing industries in the world, said International Expo Consults (IEC), organisers of the show.

Sharif Rahman, chief executive officer, IEC, said: “Paper segment was always an integral part of the show since its inception over two decades ago.”

“At the show we will continue to display the premium quality of paper to the trade visitors and educate them with the nuances of the right ink being used on the right paper. Currently the paper industry is being dominated by American, European and Asian companies. Latin America and Australasia also have significant paper industries,” he said.

Rahman continued: “We expect companies from these regions to further expand their footprint into the Middle Eastern and African markets through our show.”

“There is a significant rise in requirement based on the growing needs of several vertical industries in Middle East and African markets. Some of these are retail, outdoor and hospitality sectors and as a result are expected to consume several tons by 2020,” he added.

SGI’s last edition was a huge success with close to 330 international and regional exhibitors showcasing the latest in UV printing, textile printing, retail, LED and various signage technologies.
Thousands of visitors graced the show from across the globe including the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Europe, it said.

SGI Dubai is an ideal converging point where visitors and exhibitors can reach out with architects, sign makers, print and production manufacturers, media agencies, real-estate developers, brand and image consultants among others.

The upcoming show will also include a creative competition – SGI Dubai ‘Wall of Fame’, a car wrapping competition – ‘Masters of Wrap’, seminars and workshops conducted by industry experts under the banner of ‘Knowledge Series 2020’, said the organisers.

Apart from the new categories, the show will be focused on several aspects of the printing and graphics industry including signage, digital signage, textile printing, screen printing, LED among others. During the previous edition SGI Dubai welcomed over 330 global exhibitors from across 30+ countries and registered thousands of trade visitors from around the world, it added.
