Bahrain 'aims to become leading hub for Mice industry'

Bahrain aims to develop the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (Mice) sector, which is one of the main growth pillars of the kingdom, said a top government official.

Our strategy focuses on enhancing the kingdom's position as a leading hub within the Mice sector by hosting major events, exhibitions and trade events throughout the year," remarked Shaikh Khaled bin Humood Al Khalifa, the CEO of Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA).

He was speaking after inaugurating the debut Gulf Property Show mall event on November 21 at The Avenues mall in the presence of Ronnie Middleton, managing director of Al Hilal Group, Jubran Abdulrahman, managing director of the organisers Hilal Conferences and Exhibitions (HCE), and Ahmed Suleiman, exhibitions director of HCE.

The Gulf Property Show is a boutique showcase for the real estate and property development sector in the kingdom and aims to highlight present and future developments in Bahrain and the Gulf.

The event also aims to provide the opportunity to promote upcoming real estate opportunities in Bahrain as well as regional and international opportunities for investors in commercial and residential real estate projects, said the organisers.

A total of 19 exhibitors, representing 17 companies, including real estate developers, service providers, consultants as well as specialised financial institutions are taking part.

On the expo, Shaikh Khaled said: "It is our pleasure to inaugurate the Gulf Property Show which comes as part of BTEA’s commitment to support initiatives that contribute significantly towards the development of the national economy."

"We would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to Hilal Conferences and Exhibitions for organising such exhibitions and events that aims to strengthen the kingdom’s position as an investment destination," he stated.

The Gulf Property Show brings together representatives from the largest real estate development companies from around the world.

Visitors will also be able to identify the investment opportunities available in the participating countries such as Bahrain, Hungary, Turkey, UAE and the UK.

Supporting the Gulf Property Show comes in line with the BTEA’s strategy to promote the Mice sector and further develop the country’s tourism sector under the slogan of ‘Ours.Yours.’, which contributes towards Bahrain's economy and the 2030 Economic Vision.-TradeArabia News Service
