Oman Formaldehyde Chemical Company (OFCC), the only producer of formaldehyde (AF) and urea formaldehyde (UFC) in the sultanate, recently held the inauguration ceremony of its new capacity expansion plant facility in the Sohar Industrial Port area, said a report.

The expansion is in line with HM Sultan Qaboos Bin Said’s vision for the prosperity of Sohar and its development as the most promising industrial hub and for the sultanate and its people, reported Times of Oman, citing senior officials.

The inauguration ceremeony was held in the presence of Sheikh Dr Ali Bin Ahmed Al Shamsi, the governor of Sohar; and other senior officials from Sohar Industrial Port Company, key stakeholders and ministries, it stated.

The company was established in May 2005 and the first plant went into commercial production three years later, it added.
