Honeywell to showcase connected technologies at Intersec

Honeywell, a global software-industrial leader, will showcase connected hardware and software solutions designed to protect buildings, industries and workers across the Middle East at Intersec 2018, to be held next week, in Dubai, UAE.

The event will take place from January 21 to 23 January, at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC).

Stricter government regulations, growing business opportunities and upcoming mega events are fuelling increased demand for effective safety, security and fire protection systems by leveraging data from software analytics, cloud-based platforms and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, said a statement.

According to Frost & Sullivan, the Middle East commercial security market alone is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 16.5 per cent over the next five years, reaching $5.6 billion US dollars in 2022.

Norm Gilsdorf, president, Honeywell, Middle East, Russia, Turkey and Central Asia, said: “Connectivity is at the core of everything we do at our company and we look forward to showing our customers how our connected technologies leverage data to create actionable insights that support every aspect of daily life to create a safer and more secure environment.”

“We have been present in the Middle East for over 60 years, and we are proud to be a longstanding partner to the region’s public and private sectors as a supplier of some of the most-trusted and best-known security, safety and fire protection solutions in the world,” he said.

Technology from SCAME Sistemi s.r.l., will feature at Intersec 2018, marking the first time the firm’s products are being displayed in the region since Honeywell acquired the Milan-based firm in November 2017. The leading provider of all-in-one fire and gas systems delivers management capabilities for fire and gas detection, as well as fire extinguishing systems, from a single interface and supervisory software platform.

When combined with Honeywell’s wide-ranging fire and gas product portfolio, SCAME’s industrial controllers and management systems provide powerful integrated solutions for customers and complement Honeywell’s integrated Connected Building solutions for fire and gas safety, which provide real-time access to critical information, alerts and building controls.

Also for the first time in the Middle East, new Honeywell Sotera-Express software will be demonstrated, that simplifies the management of all Honeywell gas detector products through a single, user-focused interface for testing, maintenance and report generation.

The Sotera-Express software is the first rollout of the Honeywell Sotera safety platform, a comprehensive software platform for industrial connected worker solutions. It is designed to help customers keep their facilities and personnel safe, boost productivity, and lower compliance and administrative costs.

The Honeywell Sotera platform supports two-way communications, geo-location and automatic safety alerts to provide employers with real-time awareness of safety incidents and the ability to respond quickly if an employee is injured in a remote location.

Visitors to Honeywell’s stand at Intersec 2018 will be given a demonstration of various hardware and software solutions, including:

•WINMAG Plus – Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) – a PC-based software security platform that is specially designed for the requirements of security technology management. The platform centrally manages intrusion detection, fire detection, video, access control, escape door control and rescue route technologies, and building management systems.

•Honeywell Command and Control Suite (CCS) – a collaborative, touch-screen monitor that integrates facility-wide resources. The system provides rapid access to information, enhanced contextual awareness and ease of use, which can help facilities reduce risk to business operations, while effectively controlling security, fire safety and access control parameters, among other processes.

•Honeywell Pro-Watch – a security management platform that provides the flexibility, scalability and control required for comprehensive security management of enterprise and critical infrastructure. Pro-Watch equips organisations with the right tools to protect people, secure assets and ensure regulatory compliance by combining access control, digital video, intrusion and other functions into one powerful system.

•Honeywell Xtralis VESDA E VEA – a new approach for addressable smoke detection. VEA provides pinpoint addressability by using a network of microbore tubes connected to sample points located in the protected area. VEA actively draws air through sample points and analyses it for smoke particles in a centrally located smoke sensor module. – TradeArabia News Service
