Cofely Besix Facility Management has won a contract from leading UAE-based cable manufacturer Ducab to provide hard mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) facility management (FM) services.
The three-year contract includes a comprehensive maintenance contract to provide MEP hard services to Ducab’s staff accommodation in the UAE, a sewage treatment plant, and all other structures and utilities situated within the accommodation area and wash rooms, such as the catering facilities, prayer rooms, as well as sports and recreation facilities, said the company in a statement.
On the contract win, Bart Holsters, the operations manager for Cofely Besix Facility Management, said: "We are very excited to be selected by such a large industrial manufacturer to be their trusted partner in providing MEP hard services."
A joint-venture between Cofely, a part of global energy leader Engie and the Belgian construction group Besix, the company was established in 2008 to provide integrated facility management services in the Middle East.
"It is also important for us to have industrial clients such as Ducab within our portfolio, as they truly value high efficiency and quality in every facet of their operations. This contract allows us to work in true partnership and seek innovative ways to lower the total cost of ownership of these assets," he added.
Established in 1979, Ducab is jointly owned by the Investment Corporation of Dubai and Senaat (General Holding Corporation, Abu Dhabi) with five operational facilities in the UAE.
In recent years the company has further expanded to be a global leader in the development, design, manufacture, marketing and distribution of copper and aluminium wire & cable products.
