Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), the Bahrain-based international aluminium smelter, has completed the recovery of Reduction Line 5 pots which had been affected following the power outage incident in April.

To mark this success and recognise Line 5 recovery team, Alba held a celebration on July 17, at the Alba Oasis Hall in the presence of the company’s chairman Shaikh Daij Bin Salman Bin Daij Al Khalifa; chief executive officer Tim Murray; and the executive management team, said a statement.

Shaikh Daij said: “I would like to thank all those who were involved in restoring Line 5 both safely and quickly. The speed of the recovery is a testament of the dedication of our team.”

Murray added: “The recovery of Line 5 was one of the most painful experiences in the history of our company.

“However, the resilience of the team allowed us to set a new industry benchmark on the speed of recovery,” he said.

“I would like to thank all the workers and contractors for their efforts to manage through this difficult situation safely,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
